just to clarify, do the 1/2" spacers provided by toytec go inside, or on top of the strut assembly when assembling/installing?

They go on top of the strut assembly. You should also have some longer studs that came with the spacers that you will need to install. Just bang out the old studs and bang in the new studs (while you have the top strut plate apart).

I put the lift on my wife's 4Runner last year, and in the 20K miles since then, I have had no problems at all. I has had very little off-road use, mostly interstate driving.

Also as for those who are running this set up, if you could please post a picture with your response so I can get a sense of the look.

Thank you much.

1. it took a friend and i about 2 hours to install front and rear. we were using air tools and lifts though. the hardest part is putting the spacer and spring together with the strut. this isn't a problem if you have a strut compressor(which we did).
2. i've been pleased with the ride. the OME rear springs made my truck ride much softer than stock.
3. pros are definately the low cost. cons are very little down travel in the front.
4. im running 285/75r16 dayton timberline m/ts now. i installed revos after i did the lift. i still did have to do some trimming on the pinchweld on each side to keep the tires fron scrubbing. if you don't want to do any cutting 265/75r16 would be the largest youd want to go.
5. i had bilstiens on before i did the lift so i left them on. i will in the future replace the rear shocks with extended length bistiens or 80 series land cruiser shocks.
6. i didn't have to extend anything.

before

after

the silver 4runner had donahoe 2.5" extended length coil overs on the front and spacers in the rear at that time.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a Toytec OME 3" Lift 4Runner Coil Kit.
Included in the kit is as follows.

* (2) front lift OME coil springs
* (2) Toytec top plate spacers for full 3" front lift with coil springs
* (6) top plate studs
* (2) 3" lift rear coil springs (2" lift rear coils also available-same price)

On top of getting this kit I was going to get the 1" Differential Drop to try to relieve some stress on the cv's.

I just installed the same lift a few days ago, I have not done the Diff Drop yet, but will soon

I have a few questions for those running this particular kit.
1) If you did the install yourself, how easy was it and how much time would you estimate it took? Anything I should look out for when the install is done, either by me or a professional? I have little mechanical experience (I've done brake pads, fluids, etc) and found install to be fairly easy. I studied info on yotatech and the sonoran steel website which greatly helped. The directions supplied with the lift are not as good as the ss ones that are online. It took me and my brother about 7 hours including the trimming and removal of running boards. We compressed the springs our selves. 2 things to look out for - I used the tokico trekmasters and replaced the top nut with OEM nuts as suggested by seanorz and others; Also on the ss directions it suggests lowering the truck off the jack stands before torqueing the lower shock bolt. I torqued it down hard before lowering the vehicle off the stands and have not noticed anything wrong yet. Apparently the bushing is "static" Does anyone know if this is a problem for me?
2) Are you happy with the set up ride wise on and off road? I am happy with it, contrary to what some have said, I find it stiffer than stock. However, it does not seem to hit the bump stops nearly as much or hard.
3) Pros and Cons to this particular set up? I am very happy with it so far. Perhaps kind of wishing I sprung for the complete SS kit, but the extra money still in the wallet is nice.
4) What size tires would you recommend running with this kit? On my 2001, I put 285/75/16 Mickey Thompson MTZs on landcruiser wheels, removed the running boards, did minor plastic trimming and pinck weld pounding - No rubbing on road yet, although I have not flexed it hard due to not having the diff drop on yet
5) Have any of you running this kit changed out shocks? If so, do you recommend any particular shock to go with this set up? (I have a feeling that down the road I will need to get new shocks) already mentioned
6) Did you have to purchase extended brake lines or do the stock ones suffice for the time being? (will be updating lines on down the road, just curious if it was particular for this specific kit.) Stock so far so good - although have not flexed hard

I think that pretty much covers the duration of my questions.
Also as for those who are running this set up, if you could please post a picture with your response so I can get a sense of the look.

Thank you much.
