What about towing a 600lb pop up trailer? I'm regearged to 4.88s. I plan on turning off the OD in the mountains, but what about the freeway?

I think that would be fine.

Ive towed a utility trailer with the OD on, Ive towed anew Beetle on a carhauler with the OD off.

my trans has 275K on it.

All those pics are the reason you should buy a manual trans......

I couldnt find a 4wd runner with a manual trans so I bought an auto trans reluctantly, but if it ever blows, Im converting to a 5 speed.

I've heard people say that the auto is better for towing than the manual, just because it can be cooled externally where the manual would get incredibly hot.
