Tires
Hi all, I know there are other threads about this and I've been looking through most of them but I still would like some feedback. I need to get tires real soon because my current ones are getting pretty damn bald and it just started raining pretty bad here. Ok, so what kinda tires should I get if I do like 95% on road driving, want them to take forever to wear out, aren't too expensive, would be able to handle decently on snow and rain and give an overall good, comfortable and quiet ride. Oh and availability at costco is a big plus too I'm not asking for too much now am I?? haha

Love to help you, but I couldn't find any tires on Costco's site. I go to Sam's, but Costco is new to the area so I need to check them out sometime.
You want something along the lines of the BFG Longtrail. There are alot of copycats of this type of tread. Just get something with a good treadwear rating or a treadwear warranty and you will be set. I haven't bought that type of tire, but my 2000 JGC that I just bought came with a tire brand "Eldorado". I'd never seen these before, but they ride really nice on the highway which is where my JGC sees most of its use.
Here's a pic.
Hope that helps. BTW, these tires worked great in the snow this winter.

tires
Costco carries Bridgestone Michelin, and others. I bought Michelins for my 95Rrunner and am very happy with them. Ride and handling are good with less noise than orginal tires.
Good Luck

I had the stock RT/S and just replaced them with these:
The RT/S was a nice looking pretty quiet tire, but was horrible in the rain. THey would break loose all the time and hydroplain bigtime. I didn't know how bad there were until I replaced them with the above Bridgetone "HL" tire. They are one of the only few SUV tires that offer a 60k treadwear warranty right now, and are rated the best for rain traction, etc. They also has the "Uni T" in them. It lets different rubber compounds expose as the tire wears down and won't loose grip as it gets older. Tire-rack has them for $106 each right now - They normally sell for $140 a piece in the stores!
I go into much more detail on these tires here with more PICS:
Best all season tire, pics and write-up
These tires will last twice as long as the stock tires, won't slip in the rain, and will cost you about the same $.
