Tire question

I currently have 31x10.5 15 Toyo street somthings on her right now.

Is it okay to go 31.11.5 15 on her?

I think it's the stock wheels.

Anyone? I'm thinking of getting the MT Baja Claws. They make a radial type in 31x10.5 15, but the pattern and sidewall aren't as aggressive as the normal tire.

I think you'll be fine. I've got a 3rd gen, so I could be wrong, but I doubt there would be any issues running an 11.5" wide tire.

The only thing I can think of is the possibility of the turning radius getting larger. Those MT Claws are rugged and look cool.

the mt claws suck, in pretty much every tested condition except for sand, they make tons of road noise, dont resist punctures very well, and wear down really fast on the street....

that said a 31x11.5 is rather large for a stock rim...... you might run into rubbing issues with the wider tire

Hmmmm....I'm guessing you guys have world experience in these things. Would the BFG M/T be a better tire?

From my experience all tires with aggressive treads are loud on pavement, wear a bit faster, vibrate some and must be rotated more often than street tires. They are sometimes more difficult to balance too.

Although not as radical as the MT Claws, I was happy with a set of Yokohoma Geolanders. I have BFG ATs now and I'm happy with them.

I was getting good off road grip, decent pavement performance, and 65-70K out of the Discount Tire Pathfinders in 31x10.5. Cheaper than BFGs Going to get the Pathfinder A/Ts next time since I want something quieter/less aggressive.
