Tire Question

I tried to do a search, but could not find the answer...

I am thinking of getting:

Michelin Cross Terrain SUV (Highway All-Season)
Size: 275/70SR16 Raised Black Letters
SR Speed Rated

Is it better to go with wider tires, or lower tires (ie. 65 or 60SR). I am primarily thinking for on-road performance and snow handling.

You'll have more rolling resistence with wider tires becuase of more surface area on the tire contacting the ground, but you'll have a bit better dry handling. I say keep with the size you listed and you'll be OK.
