Timing belt warning light ??
High
I own a 96 3.0td 4 runner the timing belt light has come on to indicate the belt needs changed i had already bought a belt from my toyota dealer and fitted it When the light cam on at 120,000 miles.
I have asked the dealer how to reset it. they told me they would have to remove the entire dash board
Sounds like bull s##t to me.
Any one know the story on this??

Thanks for all the help guys
Im off out side to try the screw driver through the gromet thing hope its that easy?
Yes it is a diesel 3.0 turbo fuel is real expensive in the uk about 77pence per litre exchange rat is around 1.85$ to £1 so the petrol ones are realy expensive to run
i know i also have a V8 range rover its a nightmare
The symbol just says T-BELT and is visible with the ignition on before start up
comes on every 60,000 miles to tell you to change the belt, toyota think we are all morons that cant read a service manual

Yes it did the job
there is a small gromet on the clear panel next to the trip counter reset and onnce its removed you see the worlds smallest button on the panel behind i used the inner part of a bic pen to poke it and off it went. I will call my toyota dealer and thank him in the manner he deserves.
Thanks for all your help everyone
