Tie rod end

I was at the stealership and they told me that i needed to replace my left front tie rod end. They wanted 500 for it installed. . i went to advanced auto and they got me the part for 50 and now all i need to do is put it on...but theres a problem...i have no idea how to do it. Does anyone have a writeup or anything about this damn tie rod end??....thanks

Yeah, I was told by my local mechanic that if I wanted to order tie rod ends from Toyota, they would cost me $200 a piece.
Why the hell they charge so much for those things baffles me. Like you said, I can easily find them for 50 bucks a piece.
Sorry I didn't have an answer for ya, but here's a bump

wait a second ... i just did a search for you to see if i could find info that might help you ... and this thread came up:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/inner-tie-rod-replacement-help-37158/

so you already have an answer to this then ? the response you got to that thread seems pretty in-depth and helpful to me ...
