Throttle Body
Has anyone ever installed throttle body spacers or bigger bore throttle bodies in their toyota? If so was there any noticable performance gains? I can read so much, but would rather get other peoples opinions thanks!

There're a number of threads here asking about TB spacers... This is the latest one:

There's also a lot of info about intakes... Searching for "deckplate", "isr", "intake silencer", "mit", or "airaid" will get you started.
The short form is that getting more air into the intake is a good thing. It's also been shown for performance to smooth out the path that the air travels in getting to the TB.
But... you have to make a choice. The cone intakes are okay for street, but will kill you in the dirt and mud. You can get similar performance and better protection for your engine by going with an Amsoil filter in the stock airbox, and then opening up the front of the airbox with the "deckplate mod". There are couple of articles in the Tech Section.
Have fun!

Along time ago before I found my way on to the boards I bought one. Its kinda worthless, and just sounds cool. When you get on the gas and let off there a wooosh sound. Kinda like a generic turbo or super charger. But if your looking performance look somewhere else. Im gonna get rid of mine soon as I buy that bored out throttle body from Downey,

It's painfully easy to do... Christian's original thread is here:

For me now that Im back in college time is crutial. I would love to buy a dremel and do it myself, but im trying to fix a problome with starting. I go to school full time and work full time. I hardly have time to sit and do things. I havent even washed my truck in months. But I do have a appointment to detail it next week.

- You go do it yourself in less time than you'll be waiting for the detailing.
- Are you looking towards a larger bore TB to help your starting issues? If so, you should fix the issues first before adding the TB. I don't see anything in your sig that would suggest TB issues... What're the symptoms?

No the throttle body is no way realted to my starting issue. The issuse as the the starting relates to my truck no wanting to turn over when the engine has been run for a while. It is stuck in open loop acording to the scan. I replaced the o2 sensors. And that did not help, it either has to be the temperature sensor or the coolant temp sesnor. Or some sort of sensor.
As for the detail, I drop the truck off before I go to work, and its waiting for me when I get off. So it works out pretty well.
