Are those 15s or 16s? They look small but I haven't seen many '00s with those wheels. Seems strange that they would be 15s with the big flares.

thanks

I'm pretty sure that WaskilyWabbit's '00 rig had the 15's when he first purchased the vehicle. I hope he doesn't mind me using his picture.

Im pretty sure those are 16inch rims. Look at how rims/tires covers much of the wheel well. Especially with sport/limited flares.
He could be running 33's on 15inch rims but the tires would ballon out more.

I tried in Photoshop 7 and it's just too pixelated. It's not a high resolution image.

The tires look big, but the wheels look small. Both 15s and 16s were available in 2000 in that design. You could get either with those flares according to brochures, but I've yet to see one with 15s with that many options.

This 4Runner may not even be a consideration- I still have to find out if it has the locking differential. It just popped up tonight.

Yes I do. It's very expensive and is the latest in photo enhancement technology.

I thought limiteds had bigger rotors that required 16" rims

The 4Runner I posted is a 2000 SR5. It does not have the side cladding or painted bumpers that Limiteds have. It also does not have the Limited wheels. All 2000 Limiteds had 16" wheels.

Nope, the 2wd versions had 15's. I think the base model 4X4 4Runners had 15's also. I believe it was part of a bigger brake package.

My vote is that they are 16's

Not quite. 15s were standard all model years of the 3rd gen (96-02). From 96-01 15" steel wheels were standard on the base and SR5 models. In '02 15" aluminum wheels were made standard on the SR5 (the base was discontinued for '01).

16" wheels came with larger brakes and a 4.100 rear differential ratio, which is the main reason that I asked. I am not considering a 4Runner with 15s.

The 15" wheels came with 225/75 tires. The 16" wheels came with 265/70 tires. In 2000, the 15" and 16" wheels looked the same on regular SR5s and base models. Sports and Limiteds had the 5-spoke design.

Yep, my 00 had OEM 15s on it when I got it used, but the 15s were on it new, as they were on the sticker.

Vato you owe me a quarter for the picture!
