Are this lights legal in all 50 states? I thought they had to be red.

Down here in the boonies as long as they glow red when lit you are OK. You're supposed to be able to see them from 300ft away in the day but I doubt anybody would check that...not sure about where he's from but...just thought I'd throw that out there.

Those look pretty sweet, no idea on who makes em tho, sorry.

Just an FYI these along with clear tail lights are illegal in all 50 states. They all require rear red reflectors, now if you were to add a red reflector (to somewhere on the rear of your vehicle) then they are legal.

I thought thoes were custom made... Anyway, as long as the reflector is still fuctional, they are technically leagal but I hear people get hasseled a lot for thoes. I have had clears for like 3 years now with no problems and I know they anrn't totally leagal so who knows.

Yes, those are custom tinted tails. I believe his user name is darrman25. You should PM him to ask him how he did it.

Could you by black tail light covers, and just cut out the middle section?

Maybe you could, I don't know, but I don't think you would achieve the same result. Remember how that saying goes... you get what you pay for.

That's true, but tinting it doesn't necessarily prevent it from the reflectors showing through. It never has for me, at least.

That said, be careful doing this. If someone rear-ends you, and you have blacked-out tails, they COULD tell the cops+insurance they couldn't see your brake lights. It's happened before!
