Tacoma wheels fit on a 1985?

ok, probably the wrong forum, but, tying anyway.

I've got a 1985 2 wheel drive pickup and I need to buy tires. Saw an add or two on craigslist.com for tacoma oem wheels. Was wondering if there is a link somewehere that had info on tacoma/rav4/highlander wheels that might fit my old truck? I've got the 5lug steel wheels now, so, juat about anything would improve.

Thanks in advance for any good info.

im pretty sure they will, you just wont be able to use center caps with them. I have a set of wheels for sale, they are the tacoma/4runner wheels for 200 with tires.

if they are the 5 lug taco wheels they will work.... 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern form a 4x2 tacoma.... however anything 4x4, will not bolt onto the 4x2.....

my 4x2 has ford explorer rims on it

Cool. Sounds like I dont need to worry much about the offset then? I'm actually tempted to look at a set of corolla rims I saw since i'm doing nothing but home depot runs and soccer stuff with the truck. But, I'll keep my eyes out for some taco 5 lug wheels to be safe. I've got another question for you Jimbo but I'll PM you.

cheers.

not sure about corolla wheels, maybe the older ones, the newer ones were 4 lug......

i do know that supra wheels will fit... you might have t oworry about backspacing.... the only wheels i have tried other than what came on my truck is the ford explroer rims... they are 15x7 with i think around a 4 backspacing

From: 100 miles offshore as much as possible, & Springfield Oregon USA
4wds are all 6 lugs, 2wds are all 5 lug Ford pattern, or at least older ones were.

BUT - just in case (since no one in this thread caught it) NO 4wd wheels from 86 and newer fit on 85s and older (talking 4wd here-no idea about 2wd) The backspacing so WAY wrong. Can't do it. (Localmotion - dont' want you to get in trouble selling to the wrong guy...)

Sorry, this doesn't really address the original post...

the 4x2 was all the same from 84-95... 5 lug 5 on 4.5" pattern

4wd and prerunner tacomas are 6 lug

the prerunner and 4x2 tacomas are not the same although both are 2 wheel drive
