Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner can they be swapped?

Can the Gen 3 4runner's front struts be swapped in for a tacoma and/or a Tundra? I read the Gen3 Runners and Tundras front struts can be put on a 4runner. How about the Tacoma?

I see lifts all the time for Tundra 00-w/e and Tacoma 96-03 but never for a 4Runner. So i was thinking "Hey if they dont have it for the 4runner, could i use the Tundra/Tacoma front end for a lift?"

Basically can i put struts/coil overs that are for a Tundra or Tacoma on a Gen 3 runner?

I'm not sure if the Tundra is the same or not, but the Tacoma and 4Runner are basically interchangeable across the front end. My 4Runner is running all of the following Tacoma parts: Steering (rack and all links), spindles, UCA's, CV's and front diff. (even though the parts are interchangeable, they are not identical - the Taco steering and CV's are beefier than 4Runner stuff).

So yep you can put the struts for a Taco in a 4Runner.

Tacoma will fit, same front end. Earlier tundras you can fit the strut and spring on a 4runner/taco. But a stock tundra spring and coil lifts a taco or 4runner, so a tundra lift on a runner is most likely going to be over kill.

What type of lifting you looking at?

FYI...The Tundra top plate will not fit on a 3rd Gen. The stud positions are different.

Take a look at the Sonoran Steel site for some good info on 3rd Gen lifts if you have not already.

Yes the front struts and springs are interchangable, but the top plate from the Tundra will not work, you just need to swap your 4runner one. The Tundra and Tacoma have alot more shock options than the 4runner.
