Tacoma Question

I was looking over my Tacoma today and have a couple of questions about things I saw.
1. why do the horns have a piece of metal covering the part where the sound comes out? They look like the freeway blasters I want to install.

2. In front of the radiator the is another, smaller radiator. Is this a trasmission cooler? Nver seen this before.

3. Do the keys have chips in them. I have been told yes and no. No by salesman, yes by guy at key place.

4. Do tacomas have a steering stabilizer? could not find one.

Thanks for any help.

1 - probably to help keep water/salt out
2 - I think it's a secondary condensor for the A/C - I haven't seen a factory tranny coolor on the taco (havne't looked, admittedly)
3 - nope
4 - nope - Rack and pinion steering rarely has a steering stabilizer (though Fabtech has one for their F150 lift kits.

If it's towards the top driver's side and looks like a canister it's for the AC.

Just wanted to confirm Rockota on the key and steering stabilizer thing.
I've actually made several copies of my key and they've all run fine

Thanks for any help.
Not sure about the later trucks, but my 99 Taco does not have a chip in the key. I've had 3 or 4 made at Home Depot and they all start the truck.

Someone here with a later taco can probably verify it for ya.

edit: nevermind, peter already did

I got the keys made today and all worked fine. Thanks. Gonna try to get a picture tomorrow of that thing in front of the radiator so it can be clarified.

It's an AC condenser.
