Taco vs Tundy

Why is it that you can get a tundra DC longbed w/the trd offroad pkg but you can't get that pkg in the Tacoma dc longbox? You'd think the taco's more of an offroader.......

Cuz' the Tundra TRD package is basically bilstein shocks and a sticker, where as the Taco TRD package includes a locking rear differential as well. You could easily buy 4 shocks and a sticker for a Taco if you want the equivalent to the Tundra TRD.

I think the Taco is more of the off roader truck while the Tundra leans toward a work vehicle but can handle off road trips. How many Tundras do you see off road vs Tacos? I see more 4th gen Runners off road than Tundras.

As having driven a Tundra in the field as my work truck for about 3 years, I'd happen to agree with the above. Tundras are certainly capable of going off-road, but it's nothing to write home about. I did pull some stuff in that truck that i thought it wouldn't be capable of, but i was really taking it to the limit.... if I was knew I was doing anything really tricky, I'd leave it at home, and take my personal 4Runner.

i had a double cab taco, and my friend had the tundra. He always use to tell me that he wish he had a taco because it wasnt as wide and could fit into tighter situations. He also wish he saved the money he spend on a limited tundra and used to to buy a taco with lots of mods.
