Taco Lift, Just double checking before I buy!
Hey all! Happy Holidays!
Sent an email to Roger Brown last night, and got a very quick reply. Looking to buy the 2" body lift and throw 285 70 16s on. Will this give me three inches of lift from what I already have-- stock height with 245 70 r16's. I don't do any hard core offroading, just want the lift for looks. I have seen a few pics of RB's lifts and they look good. In all the searching I have done I think this is the best way to go for the money.

How do you expect to get 3" of lift from a 2" lift?
I'd do suspension first, but thats just me... I rubbed here and there with a 2.5" suspension and 285s, but I think I was sagging a little in the front. I also have the limited flares. I hope someone else will chime in that knows a little better. Here is my rig with 2.5" suspension and a 2" body lift for what its worth...

if i were you i would go for a suspension lift rather than a body lift. even just a spacer lift would be cool.

I was thinking I could get a little more with the new tires over the tires I have now, I would probably have to go to a 2.5" lift and get the extra 1/2" out of the tires. I guess I still need to think about it. Any thoughts on suspension lifts, who, where and what. I have done a few searches and I guess it all depends on what I am going to do with it. A daily driver with some weekend camping and minor off road use.

regarding a suspension lift: If you're really into wheeling (or plan to be) get some new coilovers up front and new shackles/shocks in the rear. If it's just for looks, you can save some $ by just putting spacers in the front instead of new coilovers.
After you get the suspension lift on there, look into the body lift. with 2" of lift, I can clear 32s easily, possibly 33s (285s) with minor trimming. I'm planning on going to 285s in the future, but on a taco you need at least 3" of lift to clear them without trimming.

check out www.extremetrucktoys.com and tell me if this is a reasonable alternative. I am still looking and trying to figure out what is going to be the best app for my situation.
