Here's mine.

This is how she sits all loaded up.

I'm itching for a lift kit haha. My ride's completely bone stock. Well except for the headlight mod i did. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah childrenofbodem, clean looking runner! That 5 spd swap must've burnt some holes in your pocket.

Here's mine. '98 w/ 5-spd, e-lockers, and around 290k miles (!!) - bought it for $5k flat. Not much done to it except for a 3" OME lift and Cooper 285/75/R16's installed last winter (just in time). I've been working on some custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosures to be integrated into the rear cargo panels, but haven't made much progress on them in a long time. Oh well, it'll get done someday.

Here it is getting ready to haul a queen mattress and box 90+ miles at 75mph. Note the cardboard airfoil

I like the black a lot and have always tried to picture this scheme done to a 3rd gen with flares. Is it some kind of undercoating or paint?

97 limited

so far its just 2" steel strut spacers and all new Ubj's and Lbj's also outer tie-rod links for the front. cheapo daystar 1.5" spring spacers and skyjacker hydro7000 shocks for the back. 220k miles! bout time for cheap but will do the job upgrades/maintenance lol tires are 265/75/16 mastercraft courser atx they're pretty badass for an on-road off-road minus deep thick mud lol but the extra ground clearance makes things a little easier

this is before ball joint replacement, the upper left bj was worn out and the outer tie rod on right hand (passenger) side was on its last leg and sorry my little friend is a camera hog

overall i like the way it sits and rides after all has been done. i also put an orielly auto recommended forgot what brand transmission cooler on the other day! strawberrymilkshake is no longer possible.

Its Rust-Oleum spray on bed liner. The wheels and trim are Plastidip.

Snow Virgin to Tahoe

Took first trip to Tahoe in the 4Runner, not knowing that there was a snow storm that shut down hwy 80 for hours. Also my first time driving in the snow:driving:FUN! Watched a couple people slide into snowbanks and pulled a few out, to include dragging a 2wd Taco a mile down some back road that got dumped on. I couldn't see 5ft in front, pretty awesome first snow drive. Did some sledding in the McDonalds Parking lot while we waited. I'm waiting on Santa to bring me snow boarding gear! Not a bad place to be stuck. We were about to call it quits and spend the night in Truckee but saw that the road was clear and drove back down to the rain.

Now just a snow Rookie

We went looking for snow again, found it....again ALOT of it! HWY 20 was closed out of Nevada City so we took Red Dog Rd which then turns into Banner Quaker Hill Rd and gets pretty awesome. Too awesome for a snow rookie rolling solo. We lost our cell signal a few miles in and for lack of a better word, I was lost. Following SnowCat tracks up the mountain for a few miles. Nothing was matching the map and the snow was getting deeper, about 2ft when I turned around. That was fun, had to use the winch several times including the U-turn. At least we were prepared for camping it out this time. But we won't be going that way again unless it's with someone that knows the area.

The trail was amazing, very fun. Even got another save on the way out. Just an old F-250 that slid off into the ditch (outside corner). The Ol Sea Turtle made it look easy.

I'm down to go again after I fix my rear axle. Replacing the shafts, bearings and seals.

This is right before it started getting bad, sliding and getting down to the mud.

Poor Ford is free

Bawlz, simply put: you are putting your family and yourself at great risk with these adventures. I live in snow county, I play in the mountains, but winter is not the time to be learning the area. People die yearly in CA, OR, NV, ID, WA, etc. by going too far, taking a wrong turn, getting stuck in snow, and then the is rig covered up by inch or more per hour snowfall. As you found, you can't rely on telephone based maps or even non-phone based GPS maps.....the phone may lose signal and they both have no idea that it is snow season.
Sorry to sound harsh..... But, it's so we don't read of a bad outcome this winter.

You are correct sir. That's why I stated that we wont be going out alone again. Believe me, reality hit as soon as I started needing the winch. I wasn't worried about Sasquatches anymore.

You are a wise man. I did notice you wrote that before I went a bit off topic with the reinforcement. Even with someone, you need to pick your locations carefully.
