I am conservative on that stand so I would argue for them (even a few cases of exploding engines is enough for me), but others can certainly show they sucessfully did otherwise too. Up to you what you are willing to risk.
That is what I meant, I was just waay too tired and cranky when I made that post.... I should have 'stepped away from the keyboard'
Anyway, what he said....

There was a reason I pushed my “package” sale so hard. I could very easily put the supercharger on eBay but my conscience would be killing me, knowing that the buyer could be unknowingly destroying their engine. At least here on the boards chances are that people have the pro’s and con’s of going w/o the fuel mods.
Think about it this way. Why in the world would Toyota design their fuel system to adequately compensate for 150% of the design power output of the stock motor? That's liek taking a 12v light bulb and putting 18v to it, sure it will be brighter but how long do you think it would last?
I believe there are people out there who just bolted on the supercharge and didn’t have problems, but can any of them honestly say they wouldn’t rather have installed the fuel mods too for the piece of mind?
Hey, it’s your money and your truck so you can do what you want. My personal suggestion would be to just save a little bit longer and do it right the first time. You have obviously survived this long w/o the S/C. What is another 6 months (or however long it takes to save the $).

I have a 2001 sport automatic, and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the transmission with the S/C installed. I was planning on "doing it right" and going w/ the supercharger & URD kit & tranny cooler, but don't have the $ for a level 10 tranny. I don't drive like a jerk, I just want the thing to be very reliable because I do a lot of highway driving, and thought the supercharger would be great for that.

Hint: Not a good idea without the VB upgrade.....can cost you a tranny.
