Supercharger Drive Pulley torque Spec

I installed the TRD 5psi pulley. Does anyone have the torque specs for the lock nut?

Gadget, thanks for the information. I guessed 40 ft lbs given what it took to remove, ended up to be a pretty good guess! Many thanks!

Did you have to buy that from TRD or did they give it to you?

SLC Punk, let me take a breath...our esteemed colleagues at TRD had me play around with plugs and coolant ratios and THEN told me that if you installed the S/C yourself and it was more than a year since installation, TRD would have to charge me for the pulley. So, I paid the $50 to buy me some time until I can afford the TRD kit.

I should not be surprised that the information from TRD is inconsistent and they seem to only answer the email that they want. It's been VERY frustrating dealing with them.

However, I did get some good information. They wanted me to reduce the coolant / water ratio to 30%. I initially thought they were crazy. But I did some homework, had an email conversation with someone at Prestone and sure enough, the higher coolant ratios are not as good at removing heat. Now this is no cure for the S/C ping problem, but it can't hurt. I reduced the ratio to 30%, added some WaterWetter and the ping seemed better if not gone. BUT, the ping can be difficult to duplicate...too many variables. So, for now, I'll run it this way and see how it goes over the summer.

For those who want to order the 5 psi pulley. Have your local Toyota Parts person call TRD with the part number 17620090. It doesn't show up on their computers, they need to contact TRD. My local dealership parts department has been very helpful.
