You guys with supercharger and with stock transmission....how is the car running? Does the transmission feel like it's getting mushy and starting to die from all the power? I've been wanting to get a supercharger but i'm afraid that the runner transmission might croak out after a few "enthusiastic" rides. And I dont think it's work spending all that money on the level10. Let me know how it's lasting for yall.

No problems here, but I have only been supercharged for 3 months.

The information I received from Lavel 10 is that if your tranny is working fine, then you at least should get the Valve Body Recalibration, which is around $600, and you don't have to remove the tranny. I would do this at the very least. But, if your tranny is already slipping or anything different than when you go it, you may need the whole system, torque converter and PTS kit. That's the route I'm going to go. It will then handle 800 HP and never have another problem out of it.

What kind of mileage did you guys have (now have) on the engine when you S/C'd it?

I've been drooling over doing this for a while, but can't afford it (short of "CHARGE IT!") so I keep telling myself that it doesn't make sense to anyway because I have 101k on my '96.

I had 95,000 on this one (bought used) before I mounted the S/C from my old Runner. I have 107K on it now. Doug had over 100,000 on his when we mounted it in his Taco.

Really didn't notice any difference on the highway, and actually slightly improved while towing. Could use overdrive more and it didn't have to downshift as much. Around town it only gets worse because I tend to put my foot in it a little more. The one thing that costs some money (besides the S/C) is I would recommend the Level 10 upgrade if you have an auto tranny. Figure it already has 101K on it. you don't want to abuse it with all that extra horse power.

Tranny Mods

My SC has been installed about 5 months now. About 2 months ago I started to notice the 1st to 2nd shift taking longer and longer.

Damn I wish I wasn't so lazy. I knew I should have gotten the valve body mod sooner. Well, long story short I too am getting the VB, mod, torque converter, and PTS rebuild kit from Level 10.

ufjaz,

What did you get quoted for the torque converter, pts, and VB?
