Suggestions on Valve Adjustment?
22 RE (1987)
Chilton's says .010 Intake, .012 exhaust
It does not recommend doing while engine is running ... so what is the optimum method? Cold adjustment = ? Hot = ?
Etc ...
Just curious

If the numbers are for operating then make smaller by 0.002-0.003 (ie 0.08 and 0.01 cold)

According to my Haynes manual : 0.008in intake hot
0.012in exhaust hot
Like MTL said ,when its hot they should have less clearance(due to heat expansion), so if you adjust cold subract about 0.02in making 0.006 and 0.010.
