stupid spark plug question

I feel really stupid posting this...

Are there any write-ups for replacing the spark plugs on a 3rd gen. 5vz-re 4runner? I've replaced plugs many times on previous cars (hondas), but there seems to be alot of crap in the way on this engine. I guess I'm just looking for short cuts. BTW, I checked in the Tech Section.

Thanks in advance

beach,

dont forget to eye ball the dielectrodes to make sure they are equidistant from the plug tip. also, dont forget to use dielectric grease on the boots and anti-sieze on the plug threads. and dont overtighten them

There is a lot of stuff in the way. One of the drawbacks of having the big engine...

But it's really not all that hard. You'll just need the proper tools and a little bit of elbow grease.

i believe most do come pre-gapped, its just a good idea to check them before putting them in. the plugs can be knocked around at times during shipping, closing the gaps a little bit, giving you the wrong gap width.

yes, they are pregapped. however, one of my plug tips was bent too far towards the center, causing a "pulsing/skipping" that could be felt in the shifter. annoying as hell. even more annoying when i pulled out each and every one and the last plug and that wsa the one causing the pulsing!

Thanks for the heads up... the wires that I bought from Wires4cars came with the grease and I always check the gap

It's removing the hoses and cables on top that scare me, but after looking at it again, I think I can work around it.
