Greetings, first time poster.

After a several hours trip in my 94 4runner, I started to hear an intermittent particularly odious buzzing sound that was 4 beeps in 2 tones and seemed to be comming from my left dash area. It would last but 3 to 4 sets of these 4 beep sounds and then quit. This happened at the end of the trip. No warning lights came on and all the gauges seemed to read normal. Looked in the manual but such a warning sound wasn't listed. Does anyone have any idea what this sound means? It doesn't sound random or unintentional. TIA Kip

 

Did it sound like a watch alarm or a honda door ajar buzzer? If so then it could be the tailgate warning buzzer. If you ever try to close the window with the tailgate open then it beeps at you. Sometimes if the tailgate isn't closed all the way and the window is closed, it'll beep like that.

I was surprised the first time my traction control kicked in on my 2002 4Runner. It seems that if the tires are only slipping a little bit, no beeps go off. If the thing really has to work, it beeps a few times. It's weird because the traction control makes the most strange noise when it's applying the breaks or whatever it does. Definitely thought something was wrong at first, and then I saw the yellow tire mark icon that lights up on the dash. Does your 94 have traction control?

 

Welcome to the board! I have a 94 and have never heard anything like that before. Do you have a factory alarm? Maybe it is part of that. It sounds more like you have aliens invading your truck
