You are probably right about that, and I have not replaced the wires/coil packs yet at 140K but would consider it if my runner starts to perform poorly

You know, really, I do not know what to think. This was the first (knock on wood) time that this has happened & has not done so again. I don't know what to think, I called my Toyota dealership - said with labor & all that would be about $150 w/tax. Not that bad I guess, kind of sucks that this is something you have to do every 30K or so. The dealership told me to put some fuel injector cleaner + some dry gas in there as the fella on the phone said it sounded like I had some bad gas that was contaminated with water. I've had no pinging, no knocking & sounds as per usual when I start her up. Again, I really do not know what to think...
Galen,
no worries Bro, yet I know for a FACT that the Injector cleaner will Make your older plugs MUCH worse right now ...Just swap them out with new plugs and then you can run Injector cleaner and seafoam after the Swap. Just have someone due a simple tune up for you....and it dosent need to be the dealer...you can get a tune up for 59.99 to $70.oo and they do a good job at a lots of independant shops....also make sure they use a little anti seize on the plug threads I cant tell you how many tech's won't do this simple step unless you specifically ask them to... anti seize prevents stripping and makes it very easy to pull the plugs out the next time without cracking a plug.
good luck tell us if you notice a difference in engine power with the switch..

remember only denso or nGK's (duel) spark plugs...and you'll likely have to bring them with you to the shop, and you can buy them at the dealer for about 2$ each. Just $12 or so and a simple tune up and think you'll be all set....Just my best guess

Good luck and god speed...
