Stock vs. OEM lift (pics)

Well it was a big weekend down in Florida. We finished installing the lift on my buddies FJ62 on Thursday and it looks sweet. Today we went on a little run up in the Ocala National Forest with 2 4runners, 1 taco and 1 Mercedes SUV.
My runner is a stock 2000 and xcmountain80's has the now infamous "Toyota" parts lift. We took some pics before things got down and dirty since nothing is better than a good yotatech thread with some pics. The stocker is a 2000 Limited with 265/70/16 Revos and the big one is a 2002 with 285/75/16/ Super Swampers. There is quite a difference and I kind of feel like I am in a station wagon or something next to that beast. We will be lifting mine next month or so assuming I can find a few extra bucks. Enjoy.

Very nice pix! Thanks a lot for sharing.

May I ask why you are calling the OEM lift "now infamous"? Did I miss something?

Alright onliy 2 more pics I swear. This is the FJ 62 we lifited with OME lift springs, rough country shocks and anti-inversion shackes. It was so big we had to take the rack off to get it out of the garage. Looks good now.

By " Infamous" Toyota parts lift... you mean the SS kit with diff drop, front tundra coilovers and Rear LC coils? Yes, no? Either way, I agree with Fireteacher:

Any rubbing issues using the stock rims. I really like our style of factory rim and would like to keep them if I can with 285's.

Also did you take out the bump stops that were in the factory rear coils? I left mine in and need to check for sure but I think they are keeping me from getting full flex.

Very cool pictures and rigs comparison. Nicely done!

I was thinking that those tires look bigger than 285/75-16, so I went to Interco's site. It is spec'd at 33.9", WOW!! That's a big 285/75-16!!! I have 33x10.50's and mine looks smaller, just a little.

I am planning to buy the complete OEM Toyota parts lift for my 99 4runner from Sonoran Steel. Sounds like everyone is happy with it. Did you keep you stock wheels or buy 16" wheels?
