Stock amp from 97 with aftermarket H/U question

Is it possible to leave the stock amp from my 97 Sr5 connected with my new Kenwood KDC-X493? My new H/U sounds very thin there is almost no bass whatsoever in fact the stock H/U sounded much better. I figure if I could pair it with the stock amp then maybe that would solve the problem.

Should be able to run the deck through the stock amp... Generally, If you just get a standard whip when you install, you are going through the stock amp, unless you go and actually bypass the amp... Atleast that's what was up on my 98 Avalon. Yet to tinker with the Runners stereo.
