Are the stock 4runner top plates acceptable for tundra coils?
Some say that the coils never fit right with the 4runner top plates and tundra top plates should be used and to redrill the stud holes in the fender to fit the tundra top plate.
What's the general concensus? Most people just reuse their stock top plates correct?
One more question, top plates are the same for all 3rd gen and 96-04 tacomas correct?

I used stock 4runner plates. I actually scourced some new ones so I could make up a complete spring/shock assy so the swap was a ton easier on the day.
I have had no problems but I am not wheeling every weekend like some here.

use your 4runner top plates. they work just fine. no need to redrill when you don't have to.
4runner and tacomas share a top plate pattern.
tundras and sequioas share a top plate pattern.
they are not interchangable without drilling the upper strut mount.

So do recommend not using tundra top plates? Or are they ok to use, but preferably the 4runner top plates be used? The tundra coils I'm going to use are already put together.

Do you have your old ones, I don't have my old stock ones anymore and top plates are the only thing I'm waiting on now. I'm just debating between 4runner and tundra top plates. It sounds like 4runner top plates will work just as well; so , do you have your old stock ones, that you might be able to part with?
Thanks
Tim
PS thanks for the help everyone.
