Hey Alin10123
I plan on ordering the rack tomorrow.
If time permits I'll try and take as many pics as possible.

That's not what I said. I said that the bushings in the rack are bad allowing it to move, not that the shaft is bending.

Hey Alin,
To make a long story short.
I called buysteering.com to verify price and to ask a few questions. The price is $265 with a $200 core charge.
I was getting a bad vibe from the guy as he was being kind of a jerk. So I told him I would get back to him.

Called Toyotasteering.com and talk to Erwin. Price $290 with a $50 dollar core charge. I asked if they match other competitors prices. He says sure. He asked what company. I say buysteering.com. He gets excited and says sure there another site for our company. He blurts out varies websites they have.

Erwin ask what price are they offering. I say $265. He says, "Wow really". I say, "Yup". He says, "Ah hell sure we'll match it". I say, "Cool but they have a $200 core charge". He says, "We'll give you the $50 core charge". I say, "deal".

After our phone conversation I checked out buysteering.com. They have since changed there price to $290 with a $50 core charge. Sorry dudes. he he

Yup. I figure I paid $200 on parts just for the drivers side. For $265 I could get a reman rack with a 3year warranty and forget about it.

So Erwin told you that buy-steering.com is basically another website for toyotasteering.com? Interesting experience, i called up buy-steering.com today and talked with a guy named Scott. He was pretty nice and also offered to honor the price of $265 since i saw it the other day. He even went as far as to goto the guy that builds these racks and asks him if he could build me one without the rubber bushings already in the center since i have polyurethane ones that i want to put in.
Oh well...

IF they're the same place, then i guess it doesn't matter which place i go to right?

Right. It was surpising when Erwin said that he needed to grab the order form for buysteering.com to fill out the order.

Im sure these sites all point to the same distributors. Even the other links from there sites are similar.

I guess it increases the odds that if someone searches for "replacement steering rack" that they'll get the most number of hits? Mike- what were the symptoms of your bad rack- why are you replacing the whole thing?

Hey guys, I'm Scott from The Steering Store (www.buy-steering.com). I just took an order from someone from this board and they mentioned the referral from here.

We recently raised our prices on the 4Runner/Tacoma 4WD rack to $290 due to increasing core prices, however if you call me and mention you are from this board I will honor the $265 price plus a $50 core deposit. Free shipping to the continental US as well.

We sells tons of these racks and they are top notch. You won't find a higher quality part anywhere.

Thanks,
Scott

Thats funny. I was talking with Erwin at ToyotaSteering.com (same company as Buy-Steering.com) and advised him that he may be recieving a few more orders after finding out what a great price you guys have.
I gave him YotaTechs site as well.

Thanks Scott. is there a time limit on this? I can't swing it right now but closer toward the summer I may be able to.
