Steering clunk
Something weird just recently started happening to my rig. Thought I'd run it by you brainiacs before I take it in.
For about a month now, my steering wheel points a bit to the right when my car is going straight. I don't have to hold it to the right, and my runner doesn't drift to either direction, so I figure I'd live with it until i got bigger tires. So about a week ago, I take a tight left turn, straighten out, and voila, my steering wheel has now straightened itself. Then after about 100 ft I hear what sounds like a clunk from the right wheel well, and the wheel needs to be turned to the right to go straight again. It was the kind of clunk you get from going over a little pothole. I wasn't going too fast, so I was able to correct the wheel without flying into oncoming traffic.
Now I didn't think too much about this until I asked myself "Good God man, what if I were on the freeway?".
So just this past weekend I put on a 2" body lift, and now that my center of gravity has been tweaked, I don't want to take anymore chances.
So, does anyone know if maybe this could be caused by something loose in the steering? Something that maybe an allignment would fix?
