Stealership VS Dealership

Stealership VS Dealership
Since joining the Board earlier this year I have watched with some sense of amusement the reference a lot of members use to where they bought there vehicle as a STEALER(SHIP) VS DEALER(SHIP). I have owned a 99 4Runner and just recently a 03 Limited. Yes in years past I have been to Stealerships who deserved the title BUT that said the DEALER I have delt with for the past 4 years in #1 bar none. I got a great price both times, the service manager is first rate, and owner/salesperson is fantastic. I get honest answers( I quite often know the answer from using this Board!!!) and the service rate is excellent.
I deal with a DEALER. I might have to drive 45 minutes to get there but it is worth it. There is a STEALER 5 minutes from me who also deserves his title!!!!!!!!
In case in any of my fellow Canadian members from Ontario are looking, the Dealer is Exeter Toyota, Exeter Ontario. This is northwest of London Ontario.
NO I do not work for him!!!!!!!!

I have a dealership near me. Everyone there knows me, cause I'm always in there. Accually one of the older guy's that works in the parts department comes into Alberson's, where I work, and gets his groceries, so I've got to know him that way. It's always nice to know someone that works at the parts department. Evey time he gives me 15% to 25% off of what I buy.

All the Toyota dealerships that I've dealt with have all been good experiences. I have not had one complaint about them. One time I took my truck for an alignment, when I went to pick it up, they had accidently dented and scratched the roof while backing out of the garage. The manager came up and explained what had happened, he was going to pay for the damages and also for the rental for the next 3 days. (Honda Civic). Maybe it's just luck that my experiences with Toyota dealerships have been good

Hannerhan...
It might be worth your while to cross that NM border. Texas gets its Toyotas through Gulf States Toyota, an independent distributor. NM gets theirs from the west coast, a division of Toyota. Gulf States can set their own pricing and when I've priced Toys on the web, El Paso zip codes are priced using Gulf States Pricing. NM Toys come from CA and are cheaper.
Try it your self. Use your own zip code and use 88310 (Alamogordo, NM).
I live in El Paso but I go to Las Cruces Toyota for service...it's just a little further, but they treat us well.

I was very impressed with the salesmen and general attitude at Las Cruces Toyota. I didn't buy a vehicle there since we got the VW TDi but I'll definately buy my next truck there. Gulf States Toyota used to be very cheap but now not so much. Jay Marks Toyota is about the most competitive parts pricers out there.

if you are from the dfw area, don't go to sport city toyota in garland, tx.
my little brother wanted to buy a 2003 4runner. after the negotiations proved fruitless, the salesman actually yelled at my brother to never step into their dealership again!!! my brother then proceeded to go to antother dealership in the Dallas Fort Worth area a few hours later and bought a similarly equipped 2003 4runner for a good deal.
the nerve of sport city toyota!! telling my brother to never go their again!!!
