Is the STEALERSHIP trying to rip me off???!!!!!
Hi guys, I have an 88 V6 auto. last week theoriginal waterpump which had been making some noise finally started leaking, so I went ahead and had the dealership that has done all of the major stuff to the truck since it was new replace the h2o pump, thermostat and timing belt. Well I picked it up today and drove the 20 miles home and it was steaming and dripping again! I called the dealer and took it back. They tried to tell me that the new water pump could have made more pressure and that the pressure found a weak spot! The engine didnt leak ANYWHERE till last week and then it was right behind the pump pully! I am not sure what I should do at this point. The water pump doesnt pressurize anything, it is more of a circulation pump so that is false! Its an 88 V6 with just 140,000 on the original head gaskets. I HATE the dealer, thats OK beacuse they gave me the "loner" :wtf: , I really feel sorry for this car, I have done everything to it over the course of the afternoon that I would NEVER think about doing to my own car, speed bump, where, curb what curb, neutral drop, me, never ! Anyway what do you think?

Well, find out where it's leaking from and then you'll have somewhere to go. It's a big ass coincidence and more than likely it's something they messed up. Were you speaking with the head of the service department? If not, get ahold of him and let him know the situation. I don't think that your water "pressure" increased either. Maybe he's confused with an oil pump.

good call, they never called me back this afternoon like they were supposed to, so I guess I will wait and see what they tell me in the morning. This whole situation sounds a little fishy to me. It almost sounds like it is leaking on the drivers side rear somewhere under the intake, I could hear it dripping on the exhaust, it was also steaming out of the front passenger side somewhere. I am not happy about this at all!!!!! I hate taking my vehicles anywhere but I really didnt want to mess with the timing belt....service manager ->
