speedo recal
This is a speedo gear for my 96 tacoma
that i purchased like 6 years ago to get my speedo right and since then i have changed tire size again and need it recalibrated but i dont know what to look for online or who to contact. I can not find anything like this online now.
I was wondering if anyone here can help me find where i bought this at. i posted on facebook but facebook groups are as bout useless as tits on a borhog

I only went up to 33' tires, but I never bothered to even think about the speedo accuracy, didn't think it was accurate from factory to begin with. What size tire are you jumping to that requires speedo adjustments.

when i got got the speedo re calibration gear in the pic i had a 31x15.0 but only measured 30 inches, now i got metric tire cant think of size but measure 31.5 now im off 3- 4 mph.

I recall looking into them when I got my 31’s from stock as I am off about 3-4 as well, I’m almost thinking it was a part that a member directed me to that was not a storefront, more of a customish part.....hell man it’s been 6 years but I’m trying to remember it’s just not coming to me

It is because most of us came with Factory 16" rims and tires that are 30.61", so if we had 31.5" tires, you would be out 2mph at 65mph, (1.25mph @ 40mph), I ran 33" tires and never noticed I was out by 5mph at 65mph, and old smoky never looked twice at me.

And not sure about the Tacos, but most (all?) of the 3rd gen 4Runners in the US have electronic speedos that get their speed info from the rear axle ABS sensors, and there's no way to adjust those.
And, as already mentioned, the stock speedometers aren't necessarily all that accurate to begin with. Swap tires sizes and there's half a chance you might actually make it better.
I just check it a few times via GPS and learn the new fudge factor. I think mine reads a little under 10% low now.
