Spark plug question
Vehicle: '98 4-Runner 4-cyl.
Do I need to use the metal gasket that comes with the sparkplugs I bought?
Also the manual mentions a 16mm plug wrench/socket, do I really need to get this or will any plug socket generally work?
Thanks!

Don't know about the 4 cyl engine but at least in the 5vz-fe engine, you only use dual grounded electrode spark plugs. I don't know if the 4 cyl has them or not. But now-a-days you rarely need to gap plugs. I can't remember the last time I gapped plugs.

i've tried about 10 different styles and brands of spark plugs...none seemed to be any better than the cheapo depo ones from oreiley's..so i use them..why spend a crap load on 4 name brand or whatever plugs...when u can spend just a few bucks on some cheap plugs that do the EXACT same thing...........

Just an FYI--the only reason Yota used the twin ground electrode was because of the wasted spark ignition system--it fires the plugs twice as much--i.e...two electrodes.
I am running iridiums--i guess just because......
