Soon to be proud owner of 1992 4Runner!!!

I will be picking up a 1992 4Runner SR5 3.0L 4x4 in a few days and am totally stoked!!! I have had two other Toyotas and loved them. As of now I am driving a Jetta(I know I know, I would rather shoot my self in the foot as well) but will soon be putting an end to that. The one thing that I am a little concerned about it the 3.0l V6. I am getting very mixed signals about this motor. So far what i can gather is that the HG, timing belt and water pump will need to be replaced. The rig has 140k miles on it. The person who owned it before never had any problems but that could mean that they will al end up on me. I am new to the forum and am loving. Any tips, insights or complaints about the 1992 4Runner would be extremly helpful. Or just say "HI". Keep up the good work and thanks for the help!

give toyota a call and check your vin to see if the hg recall has been done, if it hasnt, you may be able to get it done. welcome aboard, use the search feature often as it will help you find answers to things you want to do. check out the maintenance section also, plenty of great suggestions.

HG recall

Thanks for the heads up about the HG recall. If it hasn't been done will they do it for free?

That, and MORE!
To find out how much more, you're going to need to find that 'search' button up top.
(Just search 'head gasket', you'll be here for the rest of the day....)

Don't forget the new steering relay rod recall. They do that for free too and you a free alignment too.
