Snorkel save in New England while wheeling...

Now keep in mind, it slid in deeper that it's resting point, backed up under full throttle to this point and got stuck.. Now look to that corner that is under water and think that that is where the air cleaner is on a FJ62.. Well under water (fully submerged) This is one owner that is glad he had a snorkel... Truck never skipped a beat, and did in fact take on a little water inside the passanger compartment..
Cool part is I straped him out with my 4Runner without making a running start.. Just was able to walk it out with the help of him backing the Cruiser up.. Nice Mud, Eh??
Now skip forward to the fact that this was not a hard trail. it was in fact a "stocker run" to let the new guys play and not break much..

Good pics Lee, and for the snorkel sceptics.

If he had not had his snorkel, he would have hydrolocked the engine perhaps.

All it takes is one time like this to show how valuable a snorkel can be.
And yes I will probably get one some day.

I'll take your advice also and make up the business cards to hand out

By the way, I love FJ62s.
This one here still does it for me.

He he, that is exactly what I'd have if I did not have my 4Runner.
Right down to the color

I'd put a set of nice fender flares on that rig, antenna on the bumper, roof rack, and call it good to go.

Plus all the other mods like I have done such as the cargo box, Power Tank, ect.

I have never even priced one out yet, but one day I might have one.

Gotta love that factory axle up front.

This will explain.
http://www.safari4x4.com.au/docs/product.htm

Be sure to watch the 12 mb vid on their site.

It keeps your engine running when a non snorkel equiped rig's air filter is under water and sucking in water, and blowing your engine apart.

Hydrolock is a bad thing.

A snokel raises the height where your engine gulps for air. The intake on Lee's truck is above the roof...

It was really in CT near the Mass end of Rt.84.. Can't give out details on the web... Has a group of jasc@ss jeep guys there acting like normal jeep guys.. bashing the crap out of a really nice mud pit/water hole that led to a sweet river crossing.. They had to hammer their trucks so dang hard playing one of the jeeps finaly blew a drive shaft and we had to ditch the section... Drop me a line if you want to play some day... I got it all in the GPS, the Garmin V draws nice little roads when I am in the woods, so basicly.. I have a trail map.. If I am correct, it should be about 75 miles from you..
