snorkel install
I just got the snorkel put on, still some things finished
if i had to help somebody install a snorkel, id tell them to go screw themselves, this was the least fun thing ive ever done on my truck.
you want a 1/2 corded drill, hss bits and a 3 1/4" hole saw for the job. and make sure your little brother or sister is around to put their tiny hands in to screw on the washers and nuts, because i have small hands and it was hard as hell for me to do so.. top one is the hardest.
hole saw wouldnt stay connected to drill bit, but i finally fixed that issue. like i said you need a 1/2 drill.
also if it is imperative you have a center punch to help line the bit on the template, or else you will go ape @##% on the truck.

comes with an L bent thick tube, you need the tacoma air sleeve, mine is cracked as I just noticed, going to get a new one at the dealer right now.
thank god Im in the TLCA, i get 25% off parts and service at my dealership in town.
and yes it mounts to the pillar, i have yet to mount it there, but 3 little clips are inserted into 3 drilled holes, those clips retain holes for screws to enter.

Looks good, i should be getting my snorkel in the mail and be doing that this weekend, along with a custom front bumper.
Maybe it would have been easier to get the nut and bolt on if you removed the antenna? I dont have a power antenna any more so i will have some more space to reach my small hands.
How long did it take you?

but cutting it would have takin 25 to 30 minutes, and putting the snorkel i place another 30. so a total of an hour. I may take my attenna out to put the pipes back in, however my taco sleeve was cracked, ordered a new one, bamachem has one he said so i may take his and just cancel the order.

I will try and snap some pics this weekend when i am installing it. What are you gonna use to seal up the connections on the intake pipes?
I am just glad my 4runner came with the taco sleeve from the factory.
I think the hardest part for me is going to be tearing out the fender liner.

I just went down to autozone and got some permatrex sensor safe sealant.
I thought for people with power antennas you have to mod the antenna so the pipe will fit.

There really isnt anything to see under the hood, it should look all stock. the connections are made inside the fender.
ps i hate usps tracking. they can find out where it is, but they cant put it online. I am waiting on my snorkel, bought off ebay, from a guy who lives about 30miles away from me (buts in the army so the package is coming from washington and i am in tennessee) he shipped it the 19th and i still havent gotten it.

it doesnt move a millimeter while drilled at the pillar.
