Sliders on the way Whoo Hoo

I will be taking in my 4 Runner in Thursday to get sliders put on at RockWare here in Colorado Springs. Sweeeeeeet !!
I have seen there work on a few other Toyota's and it is top notch. I will update on how I like them after the Install.

Good deal, Doug!

Any idea what you'll have them look like?

How long did Matt estimate it would take to get those built?

Sweet!

I know he was impressed with mine when I was down there. Looking forward to a picture or two.

Oh, and don't worry about Ric. He's just been in a very bad mood since he left here last summer.

Yeah Ricnkc, it is nice in the mountains.
Coming from the west coast and now living here it ROCKS.
I just got my truck somewhat up to speed and winter set in.
Trying to get some mods done over the winter and ready for the
Spring/Summer Rocky Mountain Highs, lots of trails to run this year. later Doug

Good deal on the stubbs standard model.
I'm having mine built like the deluxe model local.
If I bougth from stubbs and had them shipped and installed
it would cost me about the same as getting it done here.

Thanks, Doug! Glad you still like the site.

Yes, we'll definitely have to go on some runs together. We still gotta get your rig up on American Flag Mountain. It'll be another wonderful summer in the Rockies.

Well on a side note on the sliders.

I will be at RockWare on the 25th getting my rear bumper tire swing. Hammered out a price with Matt and I am counting the days to get down there.

That's great, Dave! It's Christmas in January for you guys! Glad you got the price nailed down, too. A little better than what you were originally quoted. Did you talk him down, or did he do a bit more calculating?

I just told him I had 1250.00 in the budget and if he could do it for that than i would see him in 2 weeks.

He said "See you in 2 weeks"

Hey the market is up and I'm spending money, someone has to jump start this economy, right?

I have Avalanche school in Silverton that weekend, and then i am coming straight down or east as it would be geographically on Monday.

Anyway, he also cut the time it would take from 3 days to 2, so it will make it cheaper on me for hotel and time away from work as well!!

I'd like to see your rig stopped for a change, instead of cruising the streets of Telluride...
Any other word from the other Telluride guy who was inquiring about rockware bumpers? Haven't noticed another post from them and never found out who it was.

Quite the negotiator you are!

I have Mondays off as well, so it wouldn't be anything for me to drive down there so you could see my 'Runner parked! Perhaps Matt (jx94148), Doug, (hhog4dc) and Steve (Beevah) would also be up for a dinner someplace on that Monday night since those guys are all in the Springs as well. What do you guys think about that?

I'm even thinking about having Matt or Christo (Slee) chop up my tire carrier arm and rebuild it to include a hi-lift bracket. I think I see one of those as an upcoming purchase. So, that would give me a good excuse to go down there anyway.

I would definitely offer you my "couch" if you needed a place Sunday night into Monday, but if you're coming over on Monday, then that wouldn't work.

And no, I haven't heard anything from the other guy. We'll get a hold of him some time.

I told Rockware that I wanted both the shackle rings and a place for a standing mount for the hi-Lift. It rattles on my roof rack and want to get it off there. Matt said it wouldn't be a problem for the Hi-Lift or the shackle mounts, I am surprised you are not carrying a Hi-Lift allready!

I appreciate the offer for the couch, but it may be late Sunday that I am down if at all so "I'll pass" I am not sure when i will be done with avy school on Sunday, and you are at least 4 hours from there so...

See you in the springs!

Huh?! More like 50 minutes. Or did you mean Silverton?

Edit: I was a fraction late (below reply)! It's about 5.5 hours from Silverton to my place.

Edit 2: Funny guy (below)! No, I run a UFO engine. And you thought my lights were just poser stuff. :alien:

Ummm...
What kind of engine are you running?
A 2002 Lear Jet?

And how would you suggest getting from Red Mountain to Colo Springs in 50 min?

Although I wouldn't be surprised if you were running a lear jet engine....

I would be curious about what design you decide on with Matt or Christo. I got into a conversation with Christo about the lack of a Hi-lift carrier on my bumper when he saw it during my slider install. I told him about us wanting to keep the bumper/carrier design simple. I did like the way he has the hi-lift mounted on his bumper design for the 80-series LCs. I still plan on running my Hi-lift in the cargo area like Schaefer does but I am interested in the ideas you guys might come up with.
