It's not a matter of room, its the fact that those nuts always round off, are way to hard to turn, or there's no way to hold the shock shaft still while wrenching the nut.

Not trying to argue but I am still lost. If this is the case then are you going to be able to get the nuts tight enough withoout rounding the nut off then? Just want to knwo what I am getting myself into before I start this.

Installing them isn't the problem, the problem comes when removing the nut due to the mud/corrosion etc. that makes the nut hard to get off. Combine that with the fact that they painted the stud, there's no real way of holding the shaft still while working on it and the cramped area and you have a very difficult nut to remove.

Don't get me wrong, it can be done without cutting. I have replace the rear shocks on my 4Runner twice and never had to cut one off. It just takes more time. Start on the front and you'll see what we mean about the nut being difficult to remove. Then imagine that in the cramped quarters of the rear.

Oh and remove your spare tire to get yourself more room.

No kama sutra necessary. Again, you CAN get your wrench in there. Installing them it not usually all that difficult- removing them can be.
