They do take quite a bit of work to make. If you want a cheap and simple fix, try this.

I have pulled tons of trucks with these and bashed them alot. The 1/4" is plently stong placed in this position, just the ring part is kinda thin.

Mark and Beachrunner, I understand what you're sayin'...I've been trying to figure out a better way and still have some strength there. Steve is right, they take a lot of work when they are handmade cut out of angle iron, plus the spacers. My guy spent 15 hours on mine. Lots of sawing and grinding. I'm also looking for a good source for quality 3/4" shackles to offer.

Anyway, Steve has a good alternative and I think Bruce does too. They both involve welding and I was trying to stay away from that if possible, but that may be the most practical method.

Thanks for the info on the '96 - '98 TJM, Steve. I'll make note of that.

I was able to negotiate a lower price on the shackle hangers from my fab guy. you can see the latest here. This is an alternative to welding on your TJM bumper.

I'm also still looking for quality, well priced 3/4" shackles to add also.

Hope this helps.
