Second battery location for 1st gen.
The air filter is in the exact place I want to put a second battery, in my 85 Runner. So I was thinking about putting on a cone filter up by the intake (Cool Blue - K&N - whatever) thus freeing up room for a battery.
Is there any kits out there to safely do this? Has anyone done this? Is it worth doing? What about the Airflow Meter?
I want a second battery for future off-road lights, a winch, on board power inverter, ect......
Any help would be appreciated guys, Thanx,
Dan

k&n won't do it. the guy i bought my 4runner from had the k&n fipk put on. the cone filter goes in the same place as the stock airbox. i think the intake is too high on the engine to put a cone filter there. the hood would hit it.

I dunno about a battery inside the cab, Would'nt you be worried about gasses escaping as it cycles? I've heard some horror stories about improperly vented batteries.
