Sas?
Who in this knowledgable crowd can give me a list of parts needed to do a sas on a 96 4runner? Pick any axle, there are kits for earlier yoear but nothing for this gen. Anything would be a help thanks. Im in Washington at Fort Lewis stationed so if anybody has a good shop to recommend I would appreciate it. Im leaving for Iraq in November but looking for info so I have a plan when I get back.

You are going to find your vehicle requires more "outside the box" thinking to do a swap than the earlier Toyotas.
Steering and frame differences make the job more involved, with less of an off the shelf type situation.
Obviously can be done, will just take more fab work and creativity.
Most use a Dana axle, seeing the Toyota axle has a PS drop for the transfer case, and yours is DS drop.

Check http://www.hunt4steve.com
Also, allpro offroad has a Tacoma kit, which would work for the 4runner.
Go check out the fab section here nad look at the guys doing theirs too.
95% of Tacomas/4runners use Dana 44 axles from a Grand Wagoneer. They are prefect width, and are pretty much just plug and play.
You'll also need to setup an old-style IFS steering box for the crossover steering. Then the fact that you need to clean off the IFS, hang your springs correctly, and get your pinion/caster angle all sorted out are the technicalities.
Also, watrd.com has some good info.
