Got it! I'm thinkin right now that the Gen 2 door lights are the most factory looking but I do want to see how you did yours. I will have to try to find a few MB along the line you described and see how they might be incorporated using both ideas.

 

I don't have a thrashed 3gen door to play with but looking at yours (and the ones in my mech's truck you could probably fit the MB ones just below and behind the speaker since there seems there would be room with the map pocket coming down at an angle like it does at the front.
