S&B Cold Air Intake

Just had a chance to get the new S&B cold air intake installed a few nights ago. It went together very well and the directions were pretty much right on. Here are a few pics...

One thing I like about this filter is the closed box that the element sits in. In the end, these probably do a better job of filtering. The poly tube keeps the incoming air cooler too. If you keep your foot out of the throttle, it's no louder than stock, but floor it and man is this thing LOUD! I have noticed a quicker throttle response and my MPG has gone up about 10-15%. Not too bad for $200 shipped!

these closed intakes are so much better sounding and looking then the K&N and AEM brute force open cone with firewall.

Nice man. Id do that same route but I doubt they would work with an ARB snorkel

I think you're right about the snorkel think. The S&B has a low growl to it, which is better than the K&N whine. I hadn't heard a lot about S&B products, but I'm sold now!

front or bottom of the box is vented/ported? I've seen similar close box style intakes on Camaro's.

It's hard to see, but on the bottom pic, you can kinda tell. It pulls air from two places: right behind the headlight and right in front of the air duct that comes from the fender. It's on the left side of the intake box.

I got mine from a guy on ebay called outlawoffroad. I see he's now selling them for $189 with free shipping...10 bucks cheaper than mine. Shipping was fast and he's a reputable seller. I love mine so far.

Not sure about that westy. Their official site is www.sbfilters.com
They seem to be getting more applications as time goes on.

Anyone bought from these guys before? Are they okay?
