Rough Idle at startup (search didn't help)
I just purchased an 87 runner with the 22re in it. Guy I bought it from just had the head rebuilt because his son blew the head gasket. I've searched around but didn't find much in the ways of what I need to know. So here goes:
This has EFI by the way. Whenever I turn it over and the engine is cold I have to give it gas which doesn't bother me. However, when it starts I have to give it gas to keep it running as it has a rough, sputtery idle. Once I start driving it down the road it runs great. After it's warm I don't have to give it gas at idle but it still has the rough sputtery idle. The guy I bought it from said that it may be a vacuum leak but I'm not so sure. Any inputs as to where to start?
Thanks in advance- Henry

Do a search for info on the cold start injector. It could either be leaking excess fuel into the cylinder and overloading it, or isn't working and the motor is trying to run too lean at start up.
