rough idle at start 3.0
Lately I have been getting a rough idle when I start the truck.
It smooths out in about 10 seconds. but it is not consistant everytime. Also noted breif sputtering driving this morning(after warmed up)... I know I need to do a tune but this is wierd because its inconsistant which makes me fear soemthing is gonna happen soon...
any thoughts anybody..?
Thanks
Tom

Yep...
...just went through this same problem. My 3.0 would sometimes (not always) stumble at start-up for a few seconds until the high-idle would finally kick in. Especially when it was cold outside. Things would then smooth out. I had the dealership trouble-shoot it, and it ended up being dirty injectors. We had several lots of bad gasoline in the WA area some months back, and it resulted in dirty injectors on many cars and trucks. My truck had been doing this for several months before I finally decided to have it checked out.
The injectors were cleaned, and it solved the problem.

i have the same problem. it started this winter. i recently had a tune-up (air filter, fuel filter, etc) along with the fuel injectors cleaned. when starting in the morning the truck will idle at about 1300rpms roughly for about 15-20 seconds then raising up to 1700rpms and idling smoothly. i can make the roughness go away immediately if i rev it up to 3000rpms and let off. it has never done this till this winter. 95' 3.0 auto with 150,000
