Yeah man i'll get at it sometime today. From hitch to the threaded tube that locks the tire in?

I'm also in the process of designing a safety net for the rear window. When I have the rear loaded with recovery equipment and have the window down for visibility I don't want to worry about stuff falling out the back. Depending on how it'll end up I'm trying to make it a quick disconnect job but i haven't looked too far into it yet.

Yeah exactly. I think he made different sizes. Just want to see the actual difference.

Net would be pretty sweet. I just hate sand and dirt... either it being on me or in the truck haha.

Nice! It's looking really stout and extremely capable of anything. I think I'm going to beak down and get a Coleman rack as well. Can't go wrong for $75.

that is my old CBI, when I had it built, i measured from hitch to the top of my license plate surround,

if i remember right, you bought yours from that guy with a 1rst gen without a bodylift and an already custom bumper with integrated reciever, which makes that carrier short for that application.

call him up he may be able to extend it or build you a new one for cheap with that one sent in.

RoorRunner, how much total lift do you currently have on that 4Runner? How ever much you have, it sure makes those 285s look small .

I suspect you plan on running 305s very soon, correct?

hey roor, i have a rack that is almost identical to yours just not as tall, and i have been wanting to put 4 hella's on top for a long time now. i have a buddy that said he can make some mounts for me because thats what he did for his jeep. but i have been trying to figure out other ways. if you think of something let me know so i can throw some lights up there.

yeah i've been thinking about it all day....of course i don't know it will work for you but i'm sure you could retrofit a solution. my kc's came with thule load bar mounting adapters so this is why i'm taking this option. if i can find one i'm going to get a spare thule load bar and cut to fit flush over the basket. then i'm going to cut a 90 deg. section on each side on the bottom so the tops of the load bars will sit on the top of the basket and the rest will sit slightly inside of it. then it's pretty self explanatory from there, tap some screws in to mount it as you see fit and then you can probably mount the hellas directly into the load bars with the help of a drill bit or something. for me the adapters just slide onto the bars so i'd be set after that

That's cool. I just assumed since you mounted a 305 on the CBI, you had planned to upgrade all the way around.

Dang bro, 5.5" of lift, that's up there!

Nice build up. Did you loose any power or loose MPG with the tallness, larger tires and the added weight?

absolutely! but it's all worth it in my opinion. down the road i will be regearing to 4.88s but that's once i get the money and probably by then will have 35s on standby as well

and my progress has been piece by piece, i never bought a complete lift kit, just one thing at a time so there was a little mpg and a little power with every added thing. so i can't tell how much i lost and thankfully i can't tell how much worse it is now than it was stock
