rolled (UPDATE - PICS ADDED)
UPDATE - PICS ADDED BELOW - INSURANCE DEEMED IT A TOTAL
Man I am bummed
Halloween night I go down to "mud pits" in Spanish Fork Utah, and we're going up and down these mud hills. I get out at the top of a hill to check my line and see what's ahead as I go down a hill, and everything's pretty easy. (I've been off-roading since I was 10, going with relatives, driving since I was 16, especially in moab)
so we start heading down and it gets a little tipsy and i notice I'm too far right of my line where there's a ridge and to my left is a bit of a ditch, just enought to make it rock a little. We get close and I try my best to get out but it just rolls slowly onto it's side.
At least everybody's ok. I was driving and there was a girl in the passenger seat. We're all fine, no problems. but insurance inspecter called and said that it might be considered a total. the roof is bent in a bit and part of that pillar is crushed, so there's about 7K$ in damage...
my trucks got 81,000 miles on it and really good condition. Not sure what to do about it. they'll be calling within 24 hours to let me know if it's a total or not. don't know what to do if it is. I'll keep you guys updated. AHHHH I had just 2 weeks ago installed the BL and worked on it like crazy, painting the emblems black, it was beautiful.
I'll upload pics when I get them all sorted out.

I think technically most of us are not wheeling off-road, they are just dirt roads that aren't maintained very well. Or that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Update!
alright here's what's going on...
after a weekend of pulling out my hair and trying to reach the insurance dudes, they let me know yesterday that it's a total.
so they're giving me some money, and I'm going to "buy back" the 4runner - at least that's the plan. It seems a little pricey to buy back ($2,300?) but then again I'm not too familiar with all the ropes when it comes to buying or salvaging vehicles.
So that leaves me a little bit of money to play around with from insurance (7K or so) which kind of sucks because I'm hoping for something similar (3rd gen 4runner, manual tranny, 100K or less.) hard to find for the money. might be able to handle a $10K or less vehicle. I could also go tacoma style same options. should I haggle insurance company for more money? it was pretty good condition..
I've been thinking of my options vehicle-wise and haven't made up my mind...it's going between 1 - car/sedan for the gas, maybe some fun - 2 - a truck to pull the 4runner to wheeling spots or just cause it's cool (downside - gas) or a 3 - 4runner again, steal what I want off the old one and then part out the rest. thinking that overall though I'd like for it to be a family vehicle someday in the future, and one that lasts long (toyota probably)
so here are some pics of what's going on.
seriously doesn't look all that bad at all, but it's mostly structure damage, a roof pillar crushed here or there to the point of needing a new one...maybe I'll just do a bit of welding, chop the roof, make an exoskeleton of rollbars and go crazy..
there's also a vehicle in Charleston west virginia that I'm looking at, it's a black 99 with the hood scoop, 83K miles, 5spd, looks pretty nice if anyone wants to test drive it for me and let me know how it goes I can get it and ship it out or I'll go on a first road trip come thanksgiving time.
