Caz, I have a '99 and have had ZERO issues with it. It have not even seen the inside of the dealership service bay since I do my own work on it. I am now at about 65k. I wish you experience would have been better. Don't let this one issue keep you from buying another Toyota. All my relatives have car problems with their brands...but I have almost none with Toyota.

That is the best deal I have ever heard of Toyota offering. You have no complaints, take the deal and be happy. I have never heard of Toyota ever being this nice before.
Hell, I could not even get them to replace a bad wheel under warranty when my truck was brand new and you are getting them to pay for most of your blown out of warranty engine.
You need to realize how good you have it with them. Take it and run.

Their giving you a new block right or are they finding a used one to bring down cost, are you getting all new rods and pistons or just the ones that broke, I would expect all new rings and bearings, does that include a new crank, to put that much force on a crank could cause a slight warp, over time the engine will go again.
