RIP My Runner head on crash...

RIP my 4Runner is dead as of 2 hours ago. . Everyone says atleast Im ok but I was more worried about my car... I had full coverage I dunno what im gonna get for it But im prettyy sure its "totaled" the frames bent... but the honda is toast... I stoped then went to turn into my neighborhood and a honda flew over a blind hill and bammmmm i dont really remember but ending up the other direction and my gf asking if i was ok... I guess church paid off, even though I got a ticket for failing to yield the right of way... agh.. anyway

I just hope i get atleast blue book from state farm .... gehh im stuck home anyoen have a clue how long it takes to get a check for a new car or whatnot

Um, if you got a ticket, and we're talking two totaled cars, then you may not have to worry about getting a check - you may not have insurance after they pay off and if not, then you won't be able to drive much less than a bicycle.

fight the ticket, check the area for any witnesses that can verify your stopping and the other guy speeding the accident investigator should be able to determine pretty accurately the speed of the other car by skid marks and how far from the point of impact your rig ended up.

I found out they don't use "blue book". They have their own guide to total out cars. I didn't have full coverage, and it took 11 months to get paid (WSP impounded both cars for investigation......Ins won't pay til it was done...not my fault.....paid 2 weeks after investigation released cars).

But the accident I was in involved VERY serious injuries to the occupants of the other car. (side note..WEAR SEATBELTS!!!!)

You can also "negotiate" your payout to a certain extent. Have you had any recent repairs or purchases to your vehicle? If your vehicle is hard to find then that helps to. Check to find comporable cars at dealerships in your area.

yeah atleast now i realize how tough Toyotas are in a head on, makes me want another one even more. Yeah somone told me if i take pictures showing how dangerous the turn is that i can fight it, even witnesses where like not here again. Yeah my truck has racks and a tow hitch, and a $1400 sub and i think my amp is broke i have no idea the force took the screws right of the amp cover and bent the cover insides look alright. anyway and its hard to find any runner around here for under $10,000 at any dealership... the other persons insurance company keeps calling my dad said dont answer.. but yeah i just hope i get enough money back to buy another toyota truck or runner... also i had boughten new tires all terraines right before this happend and two weeks ago did my brakes and spent $300 on that

glad to hear that you're ok. just be patient w/ the ins co. dig up all your receipt for anything you've spent on it in the last year and all major upgrades in the last 3 or 4 years. they also might let you take some stuff off of it. you could also consider selling the new tires to a buddy w/ another runner and just swap his tires to your wrecked runner. take out the amp and sub and any other stereo components that you can. they probally wont' pay you much for them anyway if you left them. take the rack off the top and anything else you can keep if you don't want to get paid about 50 cents on the dollar compared to what you paid for them.

I'm not an expert, but it basically depends on how much the adjuster's estimate of repair and what the insurance company feels your 4Runner is worth. Depending on how bad it is, the frame can be bent back to place and even reinforced. Does it still run?
