Removing Harmonic Balancer/Crankshaft pully
Ok,
So some how the pully on my balancer has seperated. It needs to be replaced. Im nervous when dealing with any timing issue.
So, I have a harmonic puller; but Im wondering what I should do to remove the big bolt in the center? And, does this have to be done without turning the crankshaft pulley? if so, how do I go about doing that? I have a torqe wrench but never removed this before and wanted to ask before I possibly mess something up.
Thank you in advance

you wont mess up the timming as the timming belt (this is a V6 right?) is driven off a bottom belt gear that is keyed to the crank shaft. so even if you pull the pully off, the timming belt is good.
Just make shure you get the pulley back on or else.... (ive got a thread around hear of what happens when you dont)

I chained a flywheel bolt from the crankshaft to the engine stand and it came right off using a 24" breaker.

HUH??I know it is 213. This is a V-6 right.
Impact it to get it off--its-a-nice
THen i think i saw somebody on here make a pully holder out of a 2x4--but you only get so many uses.....then its worn out--but cheap!!
If this is a V-6 the pully/balancer bolt should be torqued to 213 ft lbs

Looks like the 4 cyl engines take 193 ft-lbs.
