Removing the charcoal canister?
Sorry to make a new thread, but I'm curious if anyone has done this and what the consequences of this will be. If you ask why check out my other thread

You could fabricate a fitting(s) that would accomodate the hoses that run to and from the canister and thereby eliminate the canister altogether without worries about potential fuel vapors..., FWIW.

The canister is required for emmisions. That said I am not the LAW or the authority emmisions. The fuel tank must be vented to allow for expansion and contraction of the fuel in the tank, it also provide some help when filling up. As for "Ting" the lines together, the return line on a fuel injected enginge is under pressure, put the CC vent line on that could pump gas out of the CC. From the pic that you have on the linked post I would say what you have there is the Assy from a Carbed truck which does not have the return line. You can always drill the replacment and fab the return line fitting using some brake line tubing from just about any donor car, or hit a pick and pull wrecking yard to get your hands on the exact match for your truck.
